The future of Australia's economy
starts here.
Our reason
With vast mineral resources, near-free renewable energy, and world-class technology, Australia has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to move beyond mining to lead the global shift to high-value refining and processing, creating a globally competitive industry supplying new technology metals and products.

The Critical Metals for Critical Industries (CMCI) Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) will drive industry-led innovation to accelerate the development and commercialisation of the next generation of critical metals refining technologies.
Our vision
Establish a globally competitive, sustainable, and sovereign critical metals refining industry—securing Australia's supply chain for advanced technologies and strategic exports.
Our Strategic Focus
This CRC will create a collaboration between government, industry and academia to accelerate the delivery of industry and government objectives by providing viable and profitable refining initiatives for Australian-produced critical metals and global IP development; and accelerating the establishment of Australia’s sovereign refining industry base.
